Christian Reformed Church Beliefs

For more, please visit the Beliefs page of the Christian Reformed Church in North America's web site.

The Ancaster Christian Reformed Church is one of 964 congregations who share in a common vision of the Christian faith and life.

We believe our world belongs to God and its people and their broken'ness can be restored through faith in Jesus Christ. The church is to be an agent of healing, a voice of hope. We are Christian because we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord of all of life. We are Reformed since we are rooted in the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's.

We worship God.

We sing, celebrating our Christian identity, our mission and our God. We listen to a message based on the Bible. We pray for the needs of our world. We raise money for the work of the church.

We reach out.

We sponsor a community wide summer Bible school, and a weekly class for persons with mental impairments. We invite women to Coffee Break Bible study and their preschoolers to Story Hour. We support Christian organizations as Beginnings Pregnancy Counselling and Salem Mental Health. We support a community wide food drive in February.

We have a membercare program.

Through visiting in hospital or at home, by providing transportation or meals, we convey the message that the church is a family of Christians.

We believe people must sense that they belong. We bear each others' burdens and share each others' joys. Our church supports Christian retirement homes and nursing homes such as Shalom Manor in Grimsby.

We teach.

We offer Christian education to all members. There are faith classes taught on Sunday to adults and youngsters. Tuesdays high schoolers have social gatherings and structured learning. Young girls have GEMS on Wednesdays and boys have CADETS on Thursdays.

We support Christian schools such as Calvin Christian School, Hamilton District Christian High School and Redeemer University College.
